meet EMILY DIAZ
“Swim classes with Miss Emily are amazing. She's always so patient and supportive, and really gives her students the needed time to be comfortable in the water. She’s great at building confidence and keeping lessons fun, while motivating her students to want to learn to swim. It's been such a relief as a parent to be more comfortable with my little one around water and in the pool, too!"
About Emily Diaz
INTRODUCTION
Atlantica Swim LLC is a Southwest Florida based swim instruction company
that is owned and operated by Emily Diaz. Through Atlantica Swim, Emily
offers private and group swim lessons, water acclimation, Red Cross water safety
instruction (WSI) and lifeguard services in Fort Myers, Florida year
round. She has
been teaching since 2015. Emily specializes in children ages 3-12, but
offers lessons to both children and adults of all ages. She has a
special affinity for children who are afraid or have anxiety about
water, and is very good with children that require more patience and
have difficulties navigating their emotions towards water.
Emily finds it important for children to be treated as individuals, and to have a trusting relationship with their teacher. Emily's approach is flexible and sensitive to the unique needs of children as they learn how to swim, whether it be through individual or group lessons or classes. Emily works hard to ensure that children learn to swim, but also encourages a "love for the water". It is important to note that Emily's approach is quite different from the ISR method. ISR is centered around self-rescue for infants and toddlers, while Atlantica Swim is more focused upon water acclimation.
Emily works with children to help them learn
how to swim and get comfortable in the water through a very holistic
approach taking into account their physical, emotional and energetic
levels. She is a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Life
Guard, as well as a 3rd degree Usui ReikiMaster and Qigong student. In
addition to swim instruction she also offers a Universal Medicine Wheel
class for children called, "Kid Council", which teaches children
experientially about body, mind and energy.
"Emily is a wonderful swim instructor and has taught both my kids to swim . She finds a way to make it fun and safe and is able to cater to each kids individual needs and personalities. My kids love Emily . I would highly recommend her to anyone."
