Children's lessons

“We had tried other private and group classes and none sunk in until we met Miss Emily. We’ve now recommended her to other friends. Great teacher! Great with the kids and meeting them at their level. She is a class act and worth the investment!"

Children's Swim Instruction

Children’s Lesson Descriptions
Each child’s age, behavioral level and attention span are assessed to make sure that the child is offered the most positive and productive lessons as possible. There are a variety of lessons that can be offered for children. Emily works with children to  help them learn how to swim and get comfortable in the water through a very holistic approach taking into account their physical, emotional and energetic levels.

Lessons for ages two and up begin as follows:
Half Hour Lesson in which the child's swim level is assessed. If they are a beginner, lessons will consist of water acclimation with things such as blowing bubbles, kicks, monkey crawls, etc, and steadily moves into learning how to swim.

Emily does offer 15 minute lessons for children with limited attention spans as water acclimation for toddlers. She utilizes techniques that help them learn to hold their breath and get used to water in their eyes and ears in a natural way. Specific toys are used to add positive association with water.

TWO LESSONS PER WEEK ARE THE STANDARD RECOMMENDATION.

Half Hour PRIVATE ONE ON ONE
Fifteen Minutes PRIVATE ONE ON ONE
